The Utariri, Biodiversity, Climate Change and Livelihoods Programme, was established with the aim of accelerating climate adaptation, diversifying livelihoods and income options, improving biodiversity management, and reducing extractive activities through community stewardship in the Zambezi Valley. Communities living along wildlife corridors are affected by the adverse effects of climate change on food security and household nutrition. Illicit poaching and wildlife encroachment has increased human-wildlife conflict which results in injury and loss of life.
